Rant number one. My jaw is still hurting so I went back to the surgery on Thursday. I saw a different doctor and she told me that my ear infection has cleared up. Great. She didn't know why I was still in pain; she suggested that it might be the after effects of the infection or it might be a dental problem. So, yesterday I went to see the dentist. He took an x-ray with a new super duper hi-tech machine and diagnosed a probable problem with a wisdom tooth in the left hand side of my mouth. It's almost a year to the day since I had a wisdom tooth pulled out from the right hand side. He's prescribed some anti-biotics (I've just finished the ones from the doctor) and told me I can't drink alcohol until I've finished them. How am I going to celebrate/drown my sorrows about West Ham's fate tomorrow?

Rant number two. Bl**dy Sainsburys. I believe it was earlier this month that they were giving away bags which are supposed to last forever so that you don't need their stupid plastic ones any more. I didn't bother getting one because I have a huge collection of carrier bags which I re-use until they fall apart. I went to Sainsburys this morning to buy a few things. I prominently displayed the bag I was holding and the check out clerk *still* started to put my things in a brand new bag. That was my cue to be less than polite to the poor man. It wasn't his fault, it's what he's been trained to do, but it's so flippin' annoying. Do Sainsburys have no interest in environmental matters or am I expecting too much of a major corporation?

Rave. I've just discovered the BBC programme 'New Tricks'. I've watched a couple of repeated S1 episodes on UK Gold and the most recent one on BBC1. It's fantastic. I ordered the DVDs of series one and two on the 10th. They arrived this morning. Talk about good service. I'm just looking forward to a New Tricks marathon.
